Children, parents and teachers arrived via sledges and toboggans for their dress rehearsals and performances. There were 2 performances with around 800 parents and relatives watching and 250 children taking part. The Mayor of Harpenden attended the second performance and congratulated the children afterwards as all the parents came down to the front to take photos of the finale. These very exciting 2 hour sessions for 4-7 (9-11am) and 8-12 yr olds (11am-1pm) will focus on producing a Musicals involving singing, dancing and acting games. Children will get the chance to explore their talents in a fun and friendly environment. After our huge success with our "Oliver" production on 5th February ( see pic), we are now starting to work towards our next production of "Shrek"!!! Children performed ballet, tap, disco/jazz and street dance and teachers danced classical and modern numbers. The costumes were spectacular and the children were very excited about performing for their relatives. The audience showed their appreciation with extended clapping and whistling and the display ended with children singing "We Wish you a Merry Christmas". Classes at the United Reformed Church are going ahead this Saturday 11th February but no Jubilee, Harpenden or Redbourn. Harpenden and Redbourn re-commence 25th February. The United Reformed Church re-commences 3rd March. Jubilee, Cunningham Hub and Charters Health Club have 11th, 18th and 25th off and re-commence 3rd March. Marshalswick classes are on 11th Feb and just have the one week off for half term (18th Feb) re-commencing 25th. This is very disappointing news as it has been a great venue and we know many of you were with us when we had to move from Trestle Arts Base last term. We can only apologise for having to move our classes again and we appreciate how frustrating it is. We have therefore had to find an alternative venue for the Tuesday afternoon classes again. The new venue will be Charters Health Club, Highfield Park Centre, 59 Russett Drive, St Albans, AL4 0DB. There are ample parking facilities available and the studio itself is lovely, with a wooden sprung floor and mirrored walls.
