Penny Waterman School of Dance

Penny Waterman School of Dance provides dance classes and dance goods in all areas of St Albans, and also Harpenden, Redbourn, Shenley, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and Bricket Wood. Approximately six hundred pupils attend one or more of our ballet, tap, disco/jazz, musical theatre and strictly ballroom/latin dance classes

We believe that dance at an early age gives children good stance and a certain grace which tends to be carried with them as they grow up.  ‘You can always tell children that have been taught to dance by the way they hold themselves’.

We feel that dancing directs young people’s energy in the right direction providing them with an environment in which they can develop their ability to move, safely and with control and co-ordination. With todays' concerns over health, dancing is a fun way to not only improve fitness but encourage creative expression, deportment and self-confidence. 

One of the most crucial aspects to a child’s emotional development is self-esteem. We therefore prefer encouragement to criticism and emphasis in our school is on learning through fun rather than examination.
