Penny Waterman

Penny started dancing when she was 3 and at age 11 went on to study dance professionally at the Arts Educational Schools in Tring & London. She has qualifications in the Royal Academy of Dancing, the International Dance Teachers Association & the Imperial Society of the Teachers of Dance, & has danced with The London Festival Ballet Company. Penny set up her own dance school in 1979 and has been teaching ballet, tap and modern for 30 years. Today she only teaches some of the very young children's classes and runs the School together with Pauline and Gwen.

Victoria

Victoria learnt to dance at the Alberto School of Dance & Drama. She has teaching qualifications in ballet & tap & gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Dance at the London Contemporary Dance School. She has recently gained her P.G.C.E (post graduate certificate in education) and teaches the BTEC National Diploma at Oaklands College. There she is an Advanced Skilled Practitioner coaching and mentoring other teachers and a Subject Learning Coach for the Media, Music and Performing Arts area. She has many years of experience in teaching both children and adults and has been with Penny for 10 years now.

Gwen

Originally hailing from Preston in Lancashire, Gwen began her professional training at Preston College where she received Associate qualifications from the ISTD in ballet, modern, tap and national. In 2001, Gwen gained her Licentiate from the Royal Academy of Dance along with a BA (Hons) in the Art and Teaching of Ballet. Since graduating Gwen has enjoyed travelling the world, dancing aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines performing in shows such as Cameron Mackintosh's Hey! Mr Producer, and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Music Of The Night. More recently she has performed in several UK and US tours of Spirit Of The Dance and Spirit Of Broadway, prior to settling in St Albans and returning to her first love, teaching dance.

Candice

Candice trained at the Hadley Highstone Dance Academy, Lime Light, Capital Arts Theatre School and the Margaret Howard Theatre College where she studied Ballet, Modern, Speech & Drama and Musical Theatre. She got down to the last 2 recall audition for the tv production of Anne Frank. Candice has a lively and bubbly personality and is wonderful with the little ones.

Marley

Marley started dancing with the Marguerita Hoare School of Dance at the age of 3 and then trained at the Moonglow Studios with Bobbie Chatt. She has since performed in many local musicals such as Godspell and Pirates of Penzance in the Abbey Theatre. Marley has sung with the Hertfordshire Youth Choir and has recently taken part in several county dance festivals in the Alban Arena for charity.

Sanna

Sanna’s passion for dance began at 5 years old upon seeing ballet for the first time. Since then she has studied and trained in many schools around the world, including St Petersburg, Florence, New York and Marseille. Sanna has danced professionally in ballet companies in Finland, Florence and most recently in France where she performed soloist roles. She also trained as a teacher and is now excited to share what she has learnt from many different teachers and choreographers around the world with others.

Sofie

Sofie studied dance at the Morgan Aslanoff School of Dancing from the age of 3 to 16. She went on to the London Studio Centre School of Performing Arts for a 3 year course in musical theatre. She has danced professionally in pantomimes for summer seasons, TV shows & theatre in England & abroad. Sofie is a full member of the IDTA in the tap branch.

Debbie

Debbie started her dance training at the age of 4 with the Debina School of Dance. She went on to gain her BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts and A Level Dance at the BRIT Performing Arts College. She has performed professionally in pantomimes and cabaret shows and has been teaching for 9 years. She is fun, lively and loves to teach dance to children of all ages.

Thailah

Thailah trained and qualified at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She has a Btec National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre and has been involved in competitions, recitals, TV shows and films. She has a lot of experience teaching children and teenagers and has a passion for Ballet and Street Jazz/Hip Hop – performing up against and in the same style as the now famous “Diversity” dance group as seen on “Britain’s Got Talent”.

Jess

Jess is currently at The Margaret Howard Theatre College in Watford.
Having started ballet at 5 years of age she has continued with her passion of dance. Jess took part in many performances during her seven years with Stagecoach and has also had a lot of stage experience with the Performing Arts course in Oxford.

Jo

Jo started dancing at the age of 3 and went on to train professionally at Masters Performing Arts College with a full 3yr Performing Arts & Musical Theatre diploma. Following this she gained several theatre credits across the UK and Europe including the Intercoiffure Mondial Performance for L'Oreal & Wella at the L'Espace Theatre Paris, pantomimes for Bruce James Productions, Polka Dot Productions & Pantoni Pantomimes and most recently appearing in Grease vs Dirty Dancing with Bornwild Management. Jo has been teaching for five years now and is currently completing her CDE tap with the ISTD.

Maria

Maria's passion is ballet and she studied at the London College of Dance and Drama. In previous years she has danced with local companies and societies. She enjoys working with children and seeing them progress from an early age. Maria has been able to share her love of dance with some of the youngest children in the school and is loved by all in the baby ballet classes.
